I waited so long for voltage for Riki’s main story update. Every time saw him in another Characters route he seemed so sexy and cool. So when It finally came, I bought it right away. Who knew, what I was in for was not what I was expecting…
Going through the boring details, I got it off iTunes for $3.99 CAD. It included 15 Chapters of story, with 2 endings; A Good and a Happy Ending. Depending on your choices in the game you will get either of the two plus 6 Character Reward Pictures (the first one belonging to the free Prologue). You also get 11 emails from the Characters, I think, at least that’s what I got from the choices I made.
Here is the Walkthrough on how I got my happy ending. Do it on your own first, and if you don’t get it, try this. It took me 2 times to get the happy ending and all the pictures… and I will explain why in my review.
- Explain how no one would like it.
- Call his name Loudly
- What are you doing?!
- That’s not the point.
- stay still
- stay silent
- Can you put mushrooms in next time?
- I don’t think you’re a playboy (LIES!)
- No, Thank you (I really wanted to say “YOUR A JERK!”)
- I think they’re all counterfeits.
- Like you?
- Are you just being polite?
- Don’t resist.
- No, I’m fine
- Go with him
- Lick his finger
- He might be in love with me
- don’t resist
- I was surprised he came
- Help me Riki!
- Kiss him on the Cheek
- I can’t lie to myself
- I want to
- No, I’m happy
- of course!
- Everyone’s right here!
- squeeze back
I’ll say this first before all you fangirls come at me with fire in your eyes and knives in your hands. I think Riki is super hot, and I was SUPER excited waiting for his route to come out so that I could play it.
However, Riki is so incredibly conceited that every time he talks I want to PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE! Yes, he does so many nice things for me, and he ends up being considerate a lot at times… but its like someone giving you a plate of your favourite food, and then right after you take 1 or two bites… They purposely cough all over it! IT TOTALLY RUINS IT! It makes you feel like you don’t even want to eat it anymore. That’s how I felt about Riki.
I know I say I love Takudo, and he also is mean and totally a Tsundere, but he’s genuine and not conceited at all! And I love his awkwardness – it’s so damn cute! I guess I just REALLY HATE conceited people. In really life situations I avoid them when possible, and when I’m confronted and they end up pissing me off, I usually make remarks to shoot them down as much as possible. I make sure that they know that I think they are conceited and that I think they are stupid and not all that great at all.
At one point I had a coworker like Riki, always blabbing and blabbing on about how he’s the greatest here, and there, and how he knows everything, and how his job isn’t a challenge for him. But, because he was my co-worker that I had to deal with all the time, I had to be nice and put up with it. At the end of my shift every day… I had a headache and wanted to shoot myself in the face! It was torture! And somehow for a large amount of this story I felt the exact same way about Riki as this co-worker of mine!
And actually throughout this story I fell in love with another character! I wont say because I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone. I was thinking in my head “OMG, PLEASE! TAKE ME AWAY FROM THIS CONCEITED BEAST AND I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!” to that character, but I knew it wouldn’t happen.
Riki does have his moments though where he tricks me into liking him, and he can be unintentionally really funny at times, especially when he is drunk. I like that about him (even though I do deeply despise him!). And he is very handsome especially in the Reward pictures they have of him. The emails were disappointing though; short and boring.
The story for this route was well written. I mean, they probably purposely wanted to make Riki seem like a bit of a jerk, they did TOO WELL. But other than that the way the plot went along and climaxed was very good, and the character development we saw in Riki’s character was great. I love how he grow as a person in this story, because he does start out with a lot of baggage and problems.(However, baggage isn’t an excuse for being a womanizing jerk!) I ended up very impressed with him and actually admired him in the end…and he does seem like an amazing and sexy boyfriend even though he’s conceited.
The relationship development was good although I wasn’t a big fan of a lot of the choices I had to make to get the happy ending. I find that the Main Character’s personality in this story way too submissive, naive, gullible and forgiving for me to agree with her actions and like her. That’s only because her personality and my personality clash in a way that it’s hard to really get into the story.
I did really like the ending despite how much I didn’t like Riki at first. And yes, I did end up falling for him now that I’ve gone and played it again. I liked this story enough to be satisfied with it, but it wasn’t like THE GREATEST, and Riki could never top Takuto in my opinion. And it may be possible that my pride is taking over me telling me to tell everyone I didn’t like this route when deep down I really kind of did.
Anyways, It is worth playing. That is all.
I was extremely excited with the latest update to finally get to complete my full set of stories and finally play Tatsuro’s Main Story and Takudo’s Epilogue which is reviewed here. Having completed all the thieves stories and encountered Tatsuro in every story, I thought it was going to be really interesting to find out how exactly this love story played out.
Bascally, Tatsuro Togoshi is the your childhood friend whom is the detective in charge of catching the band of thieves called The Black Foxes. He is also madly in love with you and has been since you were children. The kicker is, like in the other characters stories you end up being forced to become a thief and join The Black Foxes! So I thought, ‘How will I be able to fall in love and be with Tatsuro in this story if he’s trying to catch me put me in jail?” Interesting huh =)
All in all I am very pleased with this story and I will get into detail after The walk-through. I suggest that you only use the walk-through if you are having problems getting the happy ending which wasn’t very hard for me (not like Riki’s that one was hard for me). Its a lot more fun to give the honest answers that you feel deep in your heart and find out what kind of ending you are rewarded with after.
Here are my walk-through answers to get a guaranteed happy ending:
- Whats Wrong
- Tatsuro’s the one working too hard
- Running an errand for boss
- ugh… my head
- He could be the rising star of the PD
- I’m Fine
- We live Together
- I wouldn’t even call her a rival
- tend to his wounds
- help him
- Because I was Worried about him
- thanks for waking me up
- I love him
- you could at least lie
- can i have some sake
- If you have a reason I’ll forgive you
- you don’t have to be shy
- I didn’t blow up anything
- even if I wanted to I couldn’t
- don’t come any closer
- it’s not too late
Some small technical Errors I noticed while playing:
- some character errors – Instead of Tatsuro says Atsumu
- bathroom looks like museum, wrong background
I noticed it, but to me it wasn’t a big deal. Some people might be annoyed by it though.
Review Starts here! Don’t worry I will avoid the use of spoilers and try to give a thorough review without ruining it for them.
I really liked the storyline. There were a lot of twists and surprises and it was quite different from any of the other stories. In the beginning we don’t really know who the anti-protagonist is and that’s what makes this a good story. The struggles and rewards that occur in your relationship with Tatsuro really got me emotionally in this story. I loved Tatsuro’s personality more and more as I got to know him and see all different sides to his personality and the choices I was given in the story were good – Not too easy and not like insanely difficult to figure out.
When I play these types of games I always feel strongly that I should give my honest opinion in my choices the first time I play a story, instead of trying to get the happy ending right away. It’s more fun to see if my choices really lead to the happy ending or not. The MC’s personality was great in my opinion in this story, not too submissive but not too in your face. She’s very balanced, down to earth and rational, but does get emotional. I ended up getting the happy ending on the first try.
The other character’s such as the ULTRA STUPID detective that we meet later on really, really got on my nerves! Which is supposed to happen but , MAN! DID SHE EVER GET ME MAD! I wanted to scream at both her and Tatsuro. I totally want to punch that girl in the face. The frustration I felt actually made me enjoy the story more, and made it more exciting. For every moment I was angry or frustrated there were moments that took my breath away twice fold! Especially the special CG moments. Those were really good! Honestly the Facial expressions for Tatsuro I saw in other stories weren’t the greatest. However all the Picture rewards were really good pictures! TOTALLY TOOK MY BREATH AWAY! Sometimes I feel with some voltage games that some pictures really disappoint me but I loved every single picture in this route. I was happy with all of them, and I thought his short and sweet emails were touching and cute.
All in all This was a great route. Still not my favourite but he gets a 3rd place, losing to Takudo (1st) and Asumu(2nd). comparing just the CG art to the other characters he gets 2nd place only losing to the gorgeous Tsundere Takudo. Definately worth my money and one that I would enjoy to playing again!
As my favourite character in Voltage’s otome game ‘Love Letter from Thief X’ I was really exited to find them update with his Epilogue yesterday. I would love to share my thoughts WITH NO MAJOR SPOILERS on this short story.
As usual Voltage Epilogues cost $1.99 and include 3 Chapters with one ending. I didn’t have to make any choices in this particular epilogue so it just goes through the story for you to read. As usual it carries on after the main story is completed and uses the same music and graphics as the main story. You get 1 new CG at the end which is why I got really excited because I think they draw Takkun~ (Takuto) the best out of all the characters (or it seems like they put the most effort into Takkun’s pictures in my opinion).
I loved this story because its all about the development of Takudo and the MC’s (me) relationship. I love how Takkun is so Tsundere, and in this story his coldness towards the MC almost gets hard to bear and makes me sad! I guess looking back to my own relationships I’ve had one or two with a Tsundere guy who have done similar things so I can relate to how frustrated MC gets. However, as sad as he made me, he makes it up double fold towards the ending! I will not disclose the details because I don’t like ruining the surprise and story for everyone but WOW did he ever make up for it! I honestly got so excited that couldn’t help but starting to squeal and giggle uncontrollably. I guess that romantic school girl in me comes out completely when Takkun is around! And it totally reconfirmed how much I favor Takkun over any of the other Thieves.
Not to mention the CG I got was the one I’ve seen floating around in tiny and bad quality in ads that I’ve wanted for so long! I was really excited to get it finally! It is a great picture, my favorite of the whole game. It makes me even more excited coupled with the scenario that comes with it!
All in all it was a great story and totally worth the $1.99 I bought. I will be reading over and over and over again!
The update included Tatsuro’s Main Story as well! So I will be playing Tatsuro’s Story tonight and doing a walkthrough and Review of his story very soon.
I will be trying my best to write reviews and walkthroughs for every game that I play, I will be starting with the Latest updates, and then when I have time working my way backwards to other stories that I have played. See you all soon!
