TGIF@AN Weekend Otaku! Anime North 2013 – Friday Con Vlog Blog

The weekend I’ve been waiting for is finally here!  I’m so excited to be at anime north again and every year. I think I will be coming here ( or Con-ing in General) Till I cannot get out of my house because I am too old to walk! I love Anime Cons! And although I’ve never been to any outside of Canada, Toronto Cons are pretty amazing. Anime North is the largest anime convention in Canada, and it happens every year at the end of May.

They stepped up the quality of badges. AWESOME.

They stepped up the quality of badges. AWESOME.

Although most of my close friends arn’t able to attend this year I said SCREW IT, I’m getting a hotel and going all out!  And I’m seriously happy that I did. Every year I used to Transit it back and forth every day for 2.5 hours from home to the anime con which was a nightmare. Considering also that because I couldn’t stash my luggage and otaku-shopping-hauls in other friends rooms, lugging everything around everywhere for the whole day would totally not just cramp my style but be extremely tiring and difficult when trying to skillfully ninja those hordes of fellow otakus.

So in my ADD induced rush to pack, I ended up not bringing my transfer cord to import pictures from my point-and-shoot camera to my computer to do end of day uploading onto facebook etc. So, ya’ll will have to wait till I get home to get the good pictures. I took only a few with my phone because I was concerned that I would use up too much memory and battery (especially from otome gaming voltage games on my breaks)

My hotel was amazing – clean, modern, and with a lot of perks like, a fridge and microwave and free wifi.  I got here around 3pm by bus just in time for my check in and dropped all my stuff, put on my game face (my makeup lol) and headed over to the Con. I kinda planned to do a lot of stuff today including buying a ticket to ClubXIII which is AnimeNorth’s  Host Club (KYAAH~), going to a J-rock concert, and going to doll north and a bunch of panels and more… But I ended up honestly totally transfixed in the Artist Ally and Dealers Room from 6 till 9:30! I ended up panicking when I saw that it was 7 and rushed to go get my tickets for the Host club (THANK GOD) and then I rushed back to go shopping again! Haha clearly, I am a shopaholic. I ended up buying soooo many manga’s because they were a good deal at The Begiling Store booth.   Buy 6 get 1 free, and it just gets better from. I was sold… 17 mangas to be exact, because I ended up getting 3 free from the deal. 12 volumes of Kamisama Kiss, sailor moon 1 and 7 of the recent volumes of Ouran Highschool Host Club.

and snacks…

Other then that I was hunting for a specific dakimakura (body pillow) of Hajime Saito from Hakuouki or Ichinose Tokiya from UtaPri. I didn’t find them sadly but I found one of Sannosuke Harada… which I didn’t buy and I am regretting it!!!!  I’m like so passionately infatuated by Sannosuke and his route in the game ‘Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting blossom’ – him and Saito are my favourites (Saito wins because I love his voice actor like crazy, he Even does Cecil’s voice in UtaPri) ! I will go to dealers tomorrow morning and hope that he is still there… I’ll have to sleep lonely tonight… SIGH..

Anyways other than that I got a Tote to hold all my mangas and I met the super kawaii Chii Sakurabi who is a Japanese Idol who does English and Japanese songs. She is so super cute dressed in Lolita dresses and she has such an adorable and catchy songs. I bought her CD, which she signed and I also got to take a picture with her.

Also Remember that I bought a whole bunch of stuff at the Harajuku Fashion Party? well I was wearing them today and the Seller recognized me in the clothes she sold me. HAHA that was super cool, I loved the dress and shawl so I was happy to get to thank and show off how much I loved them to her.

Now I’m back at my comfy hotel having a room service burger and a Shock Top Beer and relaxing like a mo-fo because my flat feet have a hard time walking in fashionable shoes all day. I’m excited for tomorrow because it will be my J-idol auditions, I hope I remember all the words and I hope I win. OH and the Host Club… MUAHAHAHA…. I can’t wait!

Friday Night J-Rave, Looked like fun but I was so tired.

Well I need by Cosplay-Beauty-Sleep so I bid you all good night and I’ll update you again tomorrow! (I’m lying, I just want to go read some mangas and play games and then crash haha)

I’m too tired to finish my Haul video so if I have time, I’ll do that tomorrow.

Before 12 O’Clock Harajuku Fashion Party & Pop! Goes The World! KPop Party! VLOG & Haul

On May 3rd I went to another Pop!Goes The World! KPop Party. I was honestly looking forward to it the whole of April , since the last one. This one had a Harajuku Fashion Party called “Before 12 O’clock that was scheduled before the Party. I ended up going to both because I really wanted to know more about Japanese Fashion especially Lolita fashion. I really enjoyed them both! The Kpop party was like the first one- TOTALLY AMAZING. This was the first time I was able to dance in a huge crowd to PSY’s Gentleman… which has grown on me since it first came out ( I wasn’t a fan when I first saw the video but now I love it…) and they still played the most amazing music! I can’t wait till the next one! You can Check out my blogpost for my first Pop!GoesTheWorld! Experience here =)

Here is the video I Made with the footage I got from my iPhone.

This is the Outfit of the day and Face of the day for me that day.

Face of the Day Outfit of the dayI went for a J-Rocker Funk style with mostly forever21 stuff I bought each for under $10.

With my Coach Poppy mini crossover and my Crazy Yellow Reeboks.

For my face of the day I was inspired by the iconic K-POP super thick black eyeliner style with cherry stained lips. =)

I put my hair in curly pigtails to add +5 to cuteness factor as well. ^^~

I have been a very curious outsider to lolita style fashion. I really think its cute and I admire it a lot however I’ve never owned anything lolita before, or dressed lolita before. That is probably because when it comes to time and money my main priority is cosplaying my favourite characters instead of cosplaying lolita style. I usually find that those styles and fashions are hard to find and when I do find them they are very expensive, like dresses from $100 up to like $300 and more! So this was an exciting event for me especially because there were people trading and selling their older dresses at the event.

Everyone was wearing such beautiful and fun Lolita outfits. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a place other than Anime North where there were so many people dressed in Lolita. There were a few tables selling art accessories, bags and more.  There was also some Key Canadian Lolita’s being interviewed about their style, which was really cool and quite a few music and dancing numbers!

I had a lot of fun and I ended up buying quite a few items from the trading tables! These girls were selling their old dresses and stuff for so cheap I couldn’t resist! I was so happy to buy my first Lolita stuff.

Utena Wig

I bought a wig for $25 which was good because It was a really nice wig and a great price and it inspired me to do a Utena Cosplay! Hopefully I’ll have that done by AnimeNorth.

Lolita style Fashion Skirt

I bought this Skirt for $5…. I WAS SO EXCITED EVERYTHING WAS SO CHEAP!!!

Shawl Lolita Style Fashion

I bought this Shawl for $10.

Lolita style Sailor Dress Fashion

And I bought this dress for $10.

The girls who were selling these items I think were making space to buy new stuff so I made a note to myself to always go to trade/sell events so that  can get more amazing stuff for reasonable prices. The next one I think will be at Anime North. So that’s an add to the list of the million things im going to spend money on at Anime North! HAHA.

Pop! Goes the World! YG vs SM LIGHTSTICK PARTY! Poster.

My best friend in the world invited me to an event on Facebook called “Pop! Goes the World! YG vs SM LIGHTSTICK PARTY!”. The moment I saw it and read the description I immediately wanted to go!  Here is the Facebook page for this past party. I got there after 11 so I paid a $15 cover to get in but it was totally worth it. I went and met up with some old high school friends whom I haven’t seen in a while so I was so excited to go! I ended up not staying long because I had to work early the next morning but it ended up being the BEST club experience ever for me. I really love K-Pop and J-Pop music, and I find it amazing to dance to. Overall it was a great experience and I will probably be pushing to try to go every month!

The people there were amazing, I met some amazing new friends and I recognized a lot of people from Anime North. I also as a girl was worried going without guy friends to back me up, but I had no problem with creeper guys who tried to take advantage of me, dance or touch me weirdly – That never happens in a regular club! I always get harassed, and I believe that is just one of those things that happens to every girl when they go clubbing. I was so happy that I could be comfortable and dance and meet amazing non creeper guys and super fun girls!

K-Pop is such amazing music to dance to. It was so fun! I love K-pop because the bands are usually great singers, great dancers and the beats are amazing. They had come crazy lights going on and everyone had glow-sticks to wave around! Pink for SM fans and Blue for YG fans. A lot of people including me were wearing either blue or pink to support their favourite Record label. I love SM because I’m a huge fan of Boa! I also like DBSK(TVXQ) and Girls Generation… and I love wearing PINK!  They also had two big screens that showed the music videos of every song so we got to see our favourite bands as well as dance and sing to them!

Heres a really quick video I made of what video I shot at the Party with my iPhone.

As for drinks I don’t really know about the prices and stuff because I only had one drink all night! I ended up having a Shochu shot which was only $3.50 with my gals. It was fun. I think this was the only time I enjoyed clubbing so much that I didn’t even have to get hammered to have so much fun! That really says a lot! HAHA. They also had Prizes for the best dressed for each Pink and Blue people as well as performances from 2 dance crews. The performances were ok. The Dj’s were really good though, They played so many of my favourite songs. Even Bubble Pop by Hyuna! Her voice is so annoying in the song but it’s so catchy and cute that I can’t help but like it. Its my guilty pleasure song.

As for my outfit of course I went all out and wore all pink reds and coral. When people say “dress up” or “costumes” or “dress code” I always get super excited and go overboard. I came late so I wasnt able to do the costume contest but when I saw the winners I totally should have. I would have won, i was wearing the most pink in the whole place haha.

Everything I should note (other than my shoes Those were on sale for $19.99 at Call Me Spring) I bought last year in different stores but each item was 10$ or less before tax.
I bought the Neon Pink Tank Top at Stitches outlet for $3 before tax.
I bought the Mesh looking top at Urban Outfitters for $10 before tax. It was on sale from $40 regular price.
I bought the skirt at Bluenotes (I think) for $10 before tax.
The Earrings, bracelets and the tights were all from canada.forever21.com and all together was $8 before tax.

I painted my nails pink too.
On my Right I had OPI’s Italian Love Affair
With Zoya’s Anthea on my Pointer Finger.
On the left was Zoya’s Anthea with Essie’s Lovie Dovie on the Pointer.
I did a rushed job haha! Thats why its so messy. I usually rush and just let it dry then go to bed. When I wake up in the morning I shower and  the extra nail-polish that is on my skin will flake off easily after I shower.
Im not good at taking mirror phone pictures so sorry if my pictures suck.
Next month it happens on May 3rd I will most likely bring my Nikon to take some wicked pictures. I cant wait!
If you are in the Toronto Area and love KPOP  please come and join me and party there as well!
There is also a Harajuku Fashion Party Beforehand!
Here are pics of the Posters for the next event on May 3rd 2013!

My Power Hour of Shopping – Super Mini Fashion & Beauty Haul

I was at Markville Mall Yesterday with my boyfriend because he needed to do some shopping at Walmart for electric stiff for the store we are opening up next month. I naturally have my head too full of otaku and girly things to remotely understand what him and his electrician are talking about and needing to buy. So After eating some greek food and a yummy fruit smoothie for lunch he gave me about an hour to roam around the newly renovated mall.

If you know me, I love to shop and I love sales. So much so that I was a shopaholic for the longest time and in order for me to control my spending habit I AVOID MALLS. So I haven’t been in a mall for a while. So even this little bit of time at the Mall was exciting for me & I couldn’t resist buying a few things.

ImageI ended up getting everything from Forever21 on sale which was nice:

The Oversized Bunny Crop Top was only $7.99 and when I tried it on it fit me just the way I wanted it to. It was not too short so It didn’t show any belly and It was loose enough to go off the shoulder a bit but not make the bunny look weird when I wore it like that.  I’m such a big fan of cute graphic tees.

The silver pair of earrings were on sale for only $1.99. They are very Aztec and industrial looking which is great since most of my accessories are on the girly side. They would look great when I’m wearing Funky, rocker style stuff and I have my hair up.

The Gold Leaf earrings were $3.99 and they look really nice on. I will probably wear them with a dress or something that is more understated, ad definitely when I have my hair up. They look amazing when i feel like going a little bling bling. And despite the price they don’t look cheaply made at all. Pretty happy with that =)

I also ended up in Lush Cosmetics because reading and seeing so many scenes in anime and games about ‘taking baths’ I wanted to get something nice to put in the water for my bath. It may sound silly but it was intriguing me that everyone in the games and anime… they take baths like every night! I guess its normal over there to take a bath. Personally I don’t have time to take baths – it’s usually a rushed 5-10 minute shower and I’m flying out the door with my hair still dripping wet trying to make it to work on time (lol). And at night or after I work out It’s a 5 minute shower then I’m on the computer to do work or blog. Anyways I knew that Japanese people like to put cool stuff in their baths that do different things, so I thought I wanted to try it.

I ended up buying this Carrot Bubble bath thing from Lush which is a Limited edition Easter product I it was like $7.99 before tax or something like that and I can use it like 4 or 5 times and It is supposed to make my bath water super bubbly, smell nice and supposedly make my skin feel super soft. I cant wait to try it and I didn’t even realize until I took the picture here that the Bath Carrot matches my Shirt! LOL. It was expensive in my opinion but lush products are usually expensive. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it but, I’m going to try to find some cheaper alternatives to relaxing bath aids for myself and you all.

Anyways I’ve gotta go Workout, Write Takudo’s Main Story Review and go to work! I will see you all later!
